“We are delighted to promote Ellen to the role of CEO. Ellen’s leadership, vision, and dedication to our cause make her the ideal person to guide the organisation into its next chapter. Her deep understanding of our organisation and the communities we serve, combined with her proven leadership, will ensure continued impact and success. We are confident she will bring the drive, energy and ambition needed to help Real flourish in the years ahead.”

Ellen Kennedy said:

“I’m really excited to be stepping into the role of CEO at Real. I’m incredibly proud of what our team, partners and community have achieved together in recent years, and I’m excited to build on that work. I look forward to leading the organisation into its next chapter and working with our community to continue championing rights, independence and inclusion for D deaf and Disabled People.”

In her new role, Ellen will lead the organisation’s strategic direction, oversee operations, and continue to drive growth and innovation in support of its mission.

Ellen will assume the role of CEO on 1 April 2026, succeeding Interim CEO Sophie Ede, who is stepping down after successfully completing her six month contract.

We are excited and very happy to welcome Ellen into this role and look forward to everything we will achieve together.
