Research

At Real, we carry out research to understand the needs, experiences, and priorities of D/deaf and Disabled people. The evidence we gather shapes our campaigns, strengthens our advocacy and amplifies D/deaf and Disabled people’s voices so we can influence the changes that matter most.

By turning research into action, we aim to remove barriers, challenge discrimination, and create a fairer society for everyone.

We often work in partnership with D/deaf and Disabled researchers to make sure our work truly reflects lived experience. Our studies have explored topics such as quality of life, housing, access to services, independent living and attitudes toward disability.
