Volunteering at Real

Want to give back to your local community and learn new skills along the way? Come and join our friendly team!

As a Real volunteer you will be part of a dedicated team of staff and volunteers working together to improve lives across East London. You will help us deliver important services that are deeply valued by the people that we support.

In return, you’ll meet people from all walks of life, and develop skills in areas such as admin, research, events, communications, advocacy, or finance.

Our volunteer programme runs three times per year, each for about 16 weeks.

We offer three volunteer intakes each year:

  • Summer: June – September (CLOSED)
  • Autumn/Winter: October – January (applications will open from mid-August 2026)
  • Spring 2027: February – May (applications will open from December 2026)

Recruitment for each intake opens shortly before the start date.

"My time at Real has been helpful to me professionally, providing clarity about the career I want to pursue and gaining experience. I am interested in going into law or policy work, which my role at Real has clarified for me. I have had the opportunity to learn about the office environment, task and event management, and legal research."
