Endometriosis Awareness Week

March 7 - March 13

Endometriosis Awareness Week, taking place from 7th to 13th March, aims to raise awareness of endometriosis, a condition that affects around one in ten women and individuals assigned female at birth. Endometriosis occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows outside of it, leading to chronic pain and other symptoms. Despite its widespread impact, the condition is often under-recognised, with many people living with it for years before receiving a diagnosis. This week focuses on the need for better public understanding, improved healthcare responses, and the removal of societal barriers that hinder those living with endometriosis from fully participating in daily life. By challenging misconceptions and raising awareness, the week encourages greater support for individuals affected by the condition and advocates for better workplace accommodations and healthcare access.
